Answer
There are two ways to add teardown time to your work blocks in Production Scheduling:
- Select from a list of pre-configured teardown times
- Individually add teardown time to specific work blocks
1. Select from a list of pre-configured teardown times
There is an option in the settings menu in Production Scheduling which enables you to configure a list of common teardown times that can be easily added to the end of work blocks in your schedule. See image below.

To set up teardown times in Production Scheduling, please follow these steps:
- Select Settings at the top of the navigation bar
- Select Teardown times
- Select + Add another row
- Enter a label for the teardown time
- Enter a duration in hours
- Select Save
- Repeat steps 3 to 6 until you have pre-configured all teardown times for your site
To add one of the pre-configured teardown times to individual work blocks, please complete the following steps:
- Identify which work block you want to add teardown time to
- Right-click on the work block
- Select Schedule teardown time
- Select the type of teardown time you want to add
Result: You have added teardown time to your work block, which will display as a light grey block with diagonal stripes. See image below.

2. Individually add teardown time to specific work blocks
To add teardown time to individual work blocks in your schedule, please complete the following steps:
- Identify which work block you want to add teardown time to
- Double-click on the work block to open the Edit work block menu
- Enter the name of the teardown time in the Teardown label field
- Enter the duration of teardown time in the Teardown duration field. Please note that teardown time is measured in hours.
- Click Save
Result: You have added teardown time to your work block, which will display as a light grey block with diagonal stripes. See image below.
Once teardown time has been added to a work block, you can still remove it by right-clicking on the work block and selecting Unschedule teardown time.
Please note that you can lock work blocks in place in your schedule to prevent others from making changes to it. To learn more about locking work blocks in place, please read the HelpDesk article, “How do I lock work blocks in Production Scheduling?”
