Answer
The schedule is a visual representation of production work scheduled at your facility. Based on the production demands of the work orders that you accept from your customers, the schedule, which closely resembles a Gantt chart, will display when (i.e. the time on a shift) and where (i.e. the linee) you plan for production to take place at your facility.
You may use the schedule to do the following tasks:
- Visualize scheduled and completed production at your facility
- See how production capacity is planned and utilized at your facility
- Highlight areas where there are scheduling conflicts (e.g. multiple work orders share the same deadline)
- Identify and resolve scheduling risks (e.g. a power outage occurs and stops production for two days)
- Run “what if” scenarios for existing or future production (e.g. plan how to run production if a power outage occurs and stops production for two days)
- Identify and assess the number of workers/machines required to fulfill production commitments
