Answer
When you see the message “Production rate is 0” on a work order card, it means that the item’s standard production rate has not been entered in Production Scheduling. The item’s standard production rate refers to the quantity of the item that can be produced in an hour. See image below.

When you see this error message on a work order, you will not be able to schedule the work order because Production Scheduling uses the item’s standard production rate to calculate the length of a work block.
To resolve this issue, you will need to update the item’s standard production rate by importing a CSV file.
In the item CSV file, please enter the item’s standard production rate under the Standard Units Per Hour column. Then, follow the import process:
- Click Import in the navigation bar
- Select Items
- Click Choose File in the pop-up window
- Locate the CSV file that contains your item data
- Click Import
When you refresh Production Scheduling, the “Production rate is 0” message should be gone and you will be able to schedule the work order!
