Answer
A flag is a visual indicator that users can add to work orders to convey additional information about them. Currently, there are six different flags that you can use within the application. Each flag has a different color and a unique letter associated with it. Refer to Fig. 1 below.

Flags are useful when you want to add a clear visual marker on a work order, which conveys specific information in real time. Since flags are a visual indicator applied to work orders, you and your team can assign any meaning you want to flags.
Below are some examples of the type of information that you can convey by using flags:
- This work order needs to be reviewed before it can be scheduled
- This work order is running late due to an incident that happened on the line
- This work order is running ahead of schedule
- This work order is almost complete
Similar to adding notes to work orders, flags are applied on the Work Order-level. This means that all Production Scheduling users at your facility will be able to view the specific flag that has been applied to a particular work order. This also means that all work order blocks that belong to the same work order will share the same flag. Please refer to Fig. 2 below.

Best Practice Tip!
Once you have decided the information to be conveyed, be sure to make a note of the flag’s colour and share it with all your team members. This will help you and your team work more efficiently when reviewing work orders and scheduling work blocks on your visual schedule in Production Scheduling.
