Answer
In Production Scheduling, you may have noticed that some work order cards have a due date that appears in red font or work blocks that have a red outline around it. These indicate that production for the work order is scheduled to be completed past the due date. See images below.

Examples of work orders that are past due
You have accepted a work order request to produce 100 units by August 12, 2021 and the current date is August 5th, 2021. The following situations demonstrate when a work order is considered past due:
- Fully schedule production after the due date: You have fully scheduled production for this work order to be completed on August 15, 2021. Since August 15 is after the due date (i.e. August 12), this work order will be past due.
- Overschedule production after the due date: You have overscheduled production (more production than required to complete the work order) this work order to be completed on August 13, 2021. Since August 13 is after the due date (i.e. August 12), this work order will be past due.
- Underschedule production after the due date: You have scheduled some production to be completed on August 08, 2021. You schedule the remaining amount of production to be completed on August 13, 2021. This means that the total quantity of production required will be completed after the due date (i.e. August 12). This work order will be past due.
